Is anyone expecting us to make more signings? Despite what others have said (need a striker, left back, etc.), I think we've got a good strong squad now. I'd be surprised if we make any more additions.

What idiot said we need a left back? Delaney has a couple of average games and everyones on at him!! Hes quality. As for a striker theres alot of yes and nos but if we play the 451 formation we only need dexter and balanta is looking mustard so id say we dont need anymore players!! We have buszaky to come back and vines favoured position is as a striker anyway!!

I think people say we need an LB because Connolly is our only cover there (hardly ideal), Windmill, not necessarily as a replacement. But I do agree - I don't think we need to sign anyone now - we'll have a better idea in Jan whether we need to buy anyone and which ones might want to move on.

Interestingly, it appears Ben Watson might yet sign (he turned down Forest stating he wanted to go to QPR). Not sure we need more central midfielders, unless Bolder is going.

Agreed, I think we need to really see what we've got before making more acquisitions and we'll only know that with more games played. Our supposedly suspect defence really boils down to the first 10-15 mins of the season and one tough away game which may turn out to be a blip - we've only conceded one in three games now. Also encouraging that Stewart has done well so far.

Exactly cheese. Too many fans call for signings instead of letting the coaches actually coach. I even heard and read some fans say our defence looked dodgy v Doncaster. That was the game where Cerny didn't make a save. I think some people believe if the opposition has a shot then your defence is rubbish.

well I saw Gianni on the Brompton Road this lunchtime...err thats it, he may or may not have been meeting our new striker/left back/groundsman but I'm almost certain he'll have bought a coffee in the cafe he went into

Martin Cranie leaves Portsmouth to join Charlton on a season-long loan. Not sure how I feel about that...

It was Dowie himself of spoke about needing additions. Depending of course if we're seriously aiming for automatic promotion; playoffs (which is a lottery) or just an improvement over last season. If we don't go up this season, presumably - whatever may have been announced re Ledesma - our foreign loans won't be signing.

Thanks Mike - you're quite right He does make it pretty clear that he'd only make those signings if the right ones come along, and of course the loan window isn't closed yet...

Well, we already know that the second year of Parejo's loan is conditional on us achieving promotion, and this has been voiced by all parties. As far as I'm aware, no such conditions have ever been mentioned regarding Ledesma. Indeed, the conditions that have been mentioned explicitly state the opposite. As for Di Carmine, I'm not sure we'd want him if we were promoted.

Absolutely the announced deal for Ledesma said we had the option to buy. I am just very skeptical that if we don't go up this year that the deal will actually go through (and not because we wouldn't want to sign him).

Anyone who saw the games he played for us knows he's one that got away, just like Darren Ward years ago but better. I'd have had him, Mancienne (and Ward for that matter), rather than what we have. I also find it bizarre that a striker hasn't been brought in because if the board are serious about achieving promotion, then one will have be bought now, christmas or next summer - putting it off doesn't make any sense if they're to deliver on the statements made. Quite frankly, after seeing the Arabs getting involved yesterday, the lunatic prices that Sunderland are paying for lower middling Prem players and Newcastle & West Ham dumping players, I wouldn't be surprised if they're not planning an exit strategy, as QPR would be a massive black hole for similar investment.
