Just saw this quote from an Interview with Bernie this weekend "Asked: "...Presumably ultimately you'd like Queens Park Rangers to be up there alongside their neigbours Chelsea in the Premier League" Ecclestone responded: "I don't know if we could afford it....Even if we could whether we would want to...When you get in that league it's a different league. We'll wait and see." Seems a little understated next to Flavs "Champions Leauge in 4 years Quotes"

Berni also said that he hadn't been bitten by the football bug. I think his heart has not been captured by QPR (yet), especially as he was (and maybe still is) a Chelsea fan and had originally wanted to buy them before they became Chelski. He was persuaded to come in on the bargain basement purchase of QPR by Briatore who was just looking for a hobby. I get the impression that Briatore has got caught up with the romance of the 'project', whilst Berni is still a bit detached. We shall see.
