| Quick question. Do many people on here feel for West Ham's current plight? Personally I don't. They cheated to stay in the Prem, and the FA let them off. Doesn't happen with other clubs (Mansfield for example). Now their owner is effectively in financial trouble because his bank crashed, and unless he sells up West Ham could be in trouble (big squad, difficulty paying wages?). To me you reap what you sow. In saying all that, I would really love it if Spurs got relegated...... | | | |

| | Though I don;t hold with the "justice" rubbish. West Ham got more points than Sheff U. Fact. Sheff U got relegated. Tough, live with it. | | | |

| True, but if they had lost say the 4 points that Mansfield have been punished they would've been down.
I don't blame West Ham, but the FA bottled it. As for Ashton he's injured again.......

| Exile, if you're asking me if I feel sorry for West Ham's apparent financial problems, then no I don't.
If you're asking me if Sheff Utd should be compensated for being relegated through their own failings, then no I don't. Sheff Utd are only interested in the money, not where they were.
And it was a Premier League regulation that West Ham were done for, not an FA regulation.

| Other than West Ham I can't think of any other case where fielding ineligible players has not led to a points deduction - usually commensurate with the number of points won where those players played.
An outrageous decision IMO, yes Sheffield United should have won enough points to stay up without the ruling but West Ham should have been deducted points.

| The player in my avatar, now president of Uefa, told that it was unaccettable that some clubs had more debts than players and that they altered their balances in order to play in prem or in champions league. In fact this attitude, at a higher level, caused the Lehman Brothers failure and a lot of troubles for thousands of people.
I have nothing against W. Ham, but I think that it's time to punish financial mistakes. If they can't afford prem any more, they must be relegated. This opinion has nothing to do with the last season affair, and to be sincere unfortunately I think that "natural justice" doesn't exist.

I'll disagree. I'd rather have Platini in there than the likes of Blatter and Warner. At least he seems to be coming across for football, and not money. He is right about the sale of 11-14 yr olds. The others seem to have their nose shoved right in the trough.

| Exile, the FA lost control of the Premiership a long time ago. It's a long time since it was the FA Premier League. | | | |

| Lloydy, I don't think he was ever ineligible, the registration was valid. The issue was over "ownership" and "influence" over who the player could play against. This could also affect certain other clubs....... Besides which, Sheff Utd are mounting a global campaign of "acquiring" clubs and players, for which they should be royally shafted if natural justice had anything to do with it. And I hope they are. Nice away end though, last time I visited! | | | |
