| Pro's 1. Learned from Scolari 2. Will have a relationship with Scolari, so mebbe get us some decent loans, like Mancienne, Sinclair etc? 3. Young, keen and with good contacts
Con's 1. Unproven 2. Will he be too easily influenced by Flabio? 3. Any knowledge at all of the Championship?

| I don't buy this 'knowledge required' line about the championship. It's reeled out by the likes of Simon Jordan, but how successful have his experienced managers been at getting promoted? I mean, apart from 2004, when they were managed by the inexperienced Iain Dowie. I think in that article, he cited Redknapp as an example. Redknapp, who had never managed in the Championship before getting Portsmouth promoted.
There isn't some 'special knowledge' required; in fact, inexperienced managers have a tendency to do quite well - Phil Brown hadn't had a lot of first team management before taking on Hull, Aidy Boothroyd was fine until he became more experienced....

| | surely other managers are afraid because they don`t know his game plan!! could be quite dangerous playing against us, for a while anyway!!! | | | |

| Not suggesting you need special skills to get out of the Championship, just suggesting it's useful to know something about the players at this level. Both from a who can perform for us, and who are the opposition dangermen points of view. | | | |

| I agree with BT. Knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
This man worked with a coaching setup that did not worry about the opposition. They let the opposition worry about them. I hope in time he will do the same with us.

| Jamie or 'arry? My wife is already getting hot under the collar about Tomassi, so with him and Jamie in the same midfield she'd be streaking before kickoff! | | | |

| What really got me was when my Mrs said that Jamie Redknapp reminded her of our own son. I said "what a telented midfield passer of the ball" she said "no, how someone so young and good looking can have such an ugly fecker for a father!"
Charming! | | | |

| he doesn't know the players in the English league, has no management experience and has no club experience as a coach or manager. Good luck to him.
Regardless of all that, the squad he has at his disposal are a mid table squad and that's too marginal in this league. You need someone to get goals and that player is missing. relying on our current strikers will not hoist us up the table

| I would suggest he has good contacts in the game and has increased our ability to bring in players than the last few weeks and stories of Briatore would have done.
Might even be good enough to still be able to play for us!!!!!!
Some of the corporate speak doesn't excite me but it's what he does on the training ground and the way he gets them playing that counts. Brought in a 30 year old football strategist who excels with a computer. Didn't Big Sam do that at notlob?
